Beggin and Teocchi. The Azzurri cycling pair, Sofia Beggin and Chiara Teocchi, won the gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games at the end of an exciting competition that lasted five days. The YOG program included, in fact, a team competition determined by the sum of four different specialty races: Mountain Bike (80 pt. XCO - 40 pt. XCE), BMX (pt. 12), Time trial (pt. 50) and Road (pt.66). And it is precisely at the end of this race that the Italian duo became the champions of the Youth Olympic Games champion with the total of 248 points, ahead at the finish line of the Czech Barbora Prudkova/Nikola Noskova (tot. 230) and of the Danish pair composed of Anna Kjaergaard Madsen and Pernille Mathiesen (tot. 225). Beggin, class of 1997, trained by Davide Casarotto at the ASD Breganze Millenium, with three races already won on the road in 2014, has made a great contribution in both the Time Trial and in the Cross Country Eliminator, while Teocchi, athlete of class 1996 of the Bianchi ASD Racing Division of Andrea Ferrero, Italian junior cyclo-cross champion, competed this morning with her partner in the Road Race final, having come second yesterday in the Olympic Cross Country with a time of 45:19 behind Prudkova and had halted in the BMX semi-finals. With the success of pink cycling Italy claims up to 16 youth medals, including 7 gold.
