Gold for Michela Moioli! 6th Italian medal at PyeongChang
With the board at her feet, she has conquered the world. It is the natural extension of her special way of being. Michela Moioli has won the gold medal in the Snowboard Cross trial competition at the Phoenix Park in PyeongChang.

The Italian athlete did not disappoint expectations and was confirmed queen in this category, earning Italy its 6th medal at the Winter Olympics: the second gold medal after the one won by Arianna Fontana in the 500 m short track race and the first for the Italian snowboard team. An amazing performance (also in the qualifiers) and the skill of a champion that have allowed her to leave the French Julia Pereira de Sousa Mabileau and the Czech Eva Samkova behind. The jubilation has made up for the severe injury nightmare at Sochi2014. Today she has fulfilled her destiny because her entitlement to glory had only been postponed.

A brilliant competition to crown an unforgettable day. There was no way out for her rivals, and her name, from today carved in gold, is now synonym of Snowboard Cross.
