Silver! The Italian 4x100 freestyle relay team climbed for the first time in history on the second step of the podium at Tokyo 2020 thanks to the quartet composed of Alessandro Miressi, Thomas Ceccon, Lorenzo Zazzeri and Manuel Frigo. At the Tokyo Aquatics Centre, the Italians lost only to the United States, who won in 3:08.97 and took a fantastic silver medal with a time of 3:10.11 (photo Ferraro - GMT Sport). Australia closes the podium, bronze in 3:10.22.
This is the second medal in history after the bronze medal of the 4x200 freestyle of Massimiliano Rosolino, Filippo Magnini, Simone Cercato and Emiliano Brembilla in Athens 2004.
