The meeting provided an opportunity to underline CONI’s support ahead of the upcoming competitive commitments involving the Azzurri, who at this stage are being led by Head Coach Marco Ramondino, due to family-related issues that have prevented head coach Luca Banchi from joining the group.

The national team are preparing for friendly tests against Croatia, scheduled for 24 June in Gorizia at 7.30pm, and against Slovenia, away in Celje on 27 June at 8pm. The two matches will precede the fixtures on 2 July in Reykjavik against Iceland and on 5 July against Lithuania in Bologna, part of the third and final window of the first phase of qualification for the Doha 2027 World Cup.
